cambodia day 1:part 2 - 7/12/07

ok.. back to part 2.. after our heavy lunch.. we went to tonle sap lake, the biggest lake in asia.. but the place is really really poor.. only one lane available for bus to goto the jetty and then we transfered to a boat.. along all the way there're so many atap houses which no electricity and they used the water from the lake *yuks* very very poor.. was so sad to look at the kids living there..

and then we stopped at one of the boat house..

and then all the kids are trying to approach us for money.. and they pose for the camera some more.. so pity..

it's such a touching scene when i saw the poor kids living around tonle sap lake.. makes me realise that i'm so lucky that i have nice food to eat, nice place to stay, even all nice clothes i have.. shouldn't waste so much of money anymore :(

after leaving the sad place, we were brought to a jewel stone shop.. that place not allowed to take pix.. and their stones are so much expensive then the others.. so we just stay there for a short while..

and then.. the horror.. for day 1 only, we went to see the sunset of angkor wat.. when we were there was so packed.. takes around 15-20 minutes to climb up to the hill just for the sunset.. extremely tired.. but all is worth it.. althought sweating and leg pains.. keke.. and the stairs was very very narrow.. if u fall down everyone will fall down aso.. must extra careful..

and finally.. i saw the 'egg'

before head down to the bus.. and the sky turns real dark..

so it takes another 15-20 minutes to climb down to the hill again.. and even more dangerous.. cause the sky turns dark very fast and some even turn on the torch light..

then our dinner time.. super duper hungry.. cause used a lot of energy climbing up and down.. we were entertained by their cultural dance..

not forgetting to mention is buffet again.. gosh.. eat non-stop.. some more so tired.. and we went to night market! keke.. i also dunno where's my energy come from.. and after the night market we have to walk back to hotel! crazy i tell u.. whole day walk non-stop ady..

when back to hotel that time, i quickly go and bath and sleep! have to wake up early morning the next day for angkor wat! horror! walk again!

so stay tune for day 2.. u'll see many stones.. wahaha..

cambodia day 1:part 1 - 7/12/07

*bleh* only finished editing the pix for day 1..

woke up: 3am (gosh, i only manage to sleep for 3 hrs)
departure at LCCT: 5am

boarding: 7am

departure at siem reap international airport: 9am

finally landed in cambodia - siem reap
after transfer all the luggage to the truck (that will send to our hotel), we got into a pink bus and send us to breakfast.. a local restaurant which located not far from our hotel..

this bowl of soup noodle cost me 1USD.. that means not much different from kl.. and it's so yummy.. and yes.. the currency they're using is USD! so after breakfast we checked-in to our hotel - somadevi angkor hotel.. it's a 4 star hotel and just opened no longer ago.. did i mention there is just only 1 town and all the resorts & hotels just located all along the street.. and the shop lots also located in between the hotels.. so basically half a day u can travel all around the town ady..

while waiting for the room keys.. we cam whore! lol..

so after we got our room and unpack our luggage.. we went to our 1st destination.. the angkor artisan art gallery.. they display and show us all their art crafts in their workshop..

actually the workers there are mostly unable to speak or hear.. so they used hand language.. moving to the carving workshop..

the stuff in the souvenir shop there is too expensive.. so we walk out and cam whore again.. haha.. it's such a nice weather.. hot and sunny!

after that we go to eat again! lunch time at 5 star hotel! ambiance is nice, and the food is nice too! we cant even finished all the food they served!

it's public holiday!

I'm back from Cambodia..
phew.. such a tiring trip..
but i had a lot of fun!

and today is public holiday!

RIP uncle lee

got a sad news on sat nite from my colleague,
my boss's dad had passed away..
went to the funeral, to pay last respect to him..

*condolences to my boss n his family*

and,
luckily my trip still on, departure on this fri morning
yay!
